Hamdy Khalil, Senior Technology Advisor for Advanced Technologies and Innovation, Woodbridge
Prior to Woodbridge, Dr Hamdy Khalil held senior technical positions with BF Goodrich, Polysar Corporation and Labatt Brewery. Dr Khalil made groundbreaking contributions in the mechanism of Reformatsky synthesis, phase transfer catalysis, automotive structural adhesives and antimicrobial chemistry for latex. He is a sought-after speaker on sustainability as it relates to automotive polymers. He has delivered many plenary lectures at international conferences around the world.
Steve Sopher, Vice President Technology, JSP
Steve has over 30 years’ experience in the plastics field. He has held a variety of technical positions at Raytheon, Dow/United Technologies, ARCO Chemical and JSP. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He is the author of over 30 papers in the area of polyolefin foamed plastics, and holds two patents in the area of polyolefin foam energy management. He is a member of ASME, SPE, SAE and The Plastics Pioneers Association.
Stefan Reuterlöv, Marketing Manager, Armacell Benelux S.A.
Stefan Reuterlöv studied Naval Architecture and Composite materials at the Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (Royal Institute of Technology) Stockholm, Sweden. He did his master thesis on Sandwich T-joints in Marine vessels in 1995.
Stefan has now 25 years of experience working with composite sandwich materials in general and structural core materials in particular and has published more than 40 articles and papers on this subject. Today he is heading Armacell Technical Service and support for PET foam core materials worldwide.
Magnus Paledzki, Group Manager – Foam R&D, Mölnlycke Health Care
Magnus Paledzki has over 20 years of experience in material science areas such as foam structures, adhesives, laminating, coating and a variety of active substrate technologies. Previous career experience includes materials R&D in the automotive- and space industry working with various foam structures. Currently, he serves as the Global R&D Manager for foam structures, where he oversees the management of various product- and technology platform portfolios for the Wound Care division at Mölnlycke. He resides in one of Mölnlycke’s foam manufacturing sites in Maine, United States with a fully equipped R&D laboratory and pilot equipment.
Dr. Xiaoxi Wang, Associate Technical Fellow, Boeing
Dr. Xiaoxi Wang is a Senior Project Engineer in Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Product Development, managing multi-million dollar projects on materials and processes. He received prestigious awards including Most Promising Engineer of the Year Award in Asian American Engineer of the Year (AAEOY) in 2017, High Honors Award in Boeing Special Invention Award (highest technical award in Boeing) in 2016, BCA Excellence in Quality Grand Award (highest quality award in Boeing) in 2015, two NSF SBIR grants in 2009 and 2011 respectively, and 44 granted and pending US patents. Dr. Wang earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Washington.
Dr. Ernest Wysong, Sr. Research & Development Leader, Natural Polymers, LLC
Dr. Ernest B. Wysong is Sr. Research & Development Leader at Natural Polymers, LLC. He joined the company in 2021 and currently oversees the development and commercialization of new rigid spray foam insulation products, specializing in sustainable, low VOC technologies. Previously he has held positions in blowing agents, catalysis, polymer synthesis, surface science, and polyurethane foam technology at major chemical companies. Ernest holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Central Florida and a Ph.D. in Organometallic Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology.
