Andres Bauer, Procurement & Logistics Manager, Masterfoam

In the run up to Foam Expo and Adhesives & Bonding Expo 2022 we caught up with Andres Bauer, the Procurement and Logistics Manager at Masterfoam. Andres will be speaking at the conference in June and was able to shed some light on his valuable work on supply chain management in the wake of COVID-19, his role within the industry, and even his dream holiday destination.

Can you tell us about your role at Masterfoam?

I am Responsible of defining the strategies and directing the procurement and logistics operations of raw materials and finished goods at Masterfoam Mexico.

• Responsible of production Planning and Customer delivery of finished products
• Procurement of raw materials
• Imports and exports
• Driving supplier performance improvement
• Developing local and NAFTA suppliers
• ERP system implementation
• Ensuring the accomplishment of requirements for ISO/TS 16949, ISO14001, IATF and VDA8
  
  

What do you see as the most exciting innovations taking place within the materials sector currently?

Currently I see two exciting innovations taking place within the industry. The first is the development of bio-based foam from companies like Evoco Ltd. and the second is recyclable polyester from companies such as J.H. Ziegler GmbH.

What will attendees learn from your presentation and why is it important that they attend?

They will learn how we managed at Masterfoam during critical situations. How we have learned to avoid shortages in our supply chain and the preventive action we took to improve the communication between parties. Furthermore, they will see how important is to have real data on time to take decisions and keep the business running.

What are you most excited about for Foam Expo and Adhesives & Bonding Expo 2022?

For Masterfoam Group, as a new player in the North America´s foam converters industry and with so many years of experience in Europe, we look forward to becoming better known and reach new potential customers. The event will be a great opportunity to do so.

To be in contact with customers and suppliers, it is a relevant moment to be connected and updated about the industry and its news.

If you won an all-expenses paid holiday anywhere in the world. Where would you like to go?

For my all expenses paid holiday, I would have to choose the Maldives.
